PCT Gear List

I had a lots of fun sorting out my gear and have now finalized everything. Having done two thru hikes already I am pretty confident with what is required and what works for me. Most of my gear is the same as what I have used on the previous hinges and some of it is new, either made by me or purchased.

My baseweight is 6,553 grams (14.44 lb). My true weight which includes consumables is 6,975 grams (15.38lb). My big three (pack, tent, sleeping bag) is 1788 g (3.94 lb)

The detailed gear list is below the summary graphs. I have also done a video of my gear and below that is a video on my homemade pack.

  1. Hi Kirstine! I came across your website a few months back after seeing your post on one of the Facebook forums, but only just started watching your videos. I absolutely LOVE your style and am so excited to follow along on the PCT with you 🙂 Your videos are very similar to mine (Long White Gypsy) because they focus on the hiking, the vegetation and the trail information. I was amazed to see how much of your gear your handmake yourself… I’d be very interested in finding out more about how to make stuff sacks (easy sewing projects, as I have no experience) etc. to save money and have a much more customised product 🙂 Happy trails, and look forward to following along on your adventure.

    1. Hi Michelle. Thanks for your comment. When I finish trail I can do a video on making stuff sacks. It is really easy and neet to have them fit your gear perfectly.
